What? Another Neo Kee update?

Yes. I has pictures nao. Shaddap plox.
Gosh, maybe I should just change the blog name to Neokeefansx1000.blogspot.com lol. Er... On second thought, maybe not? Heh.

So, if you remember, I did mention about the 30% discount from 5-6.30pm aye? Well, let me just point out some things that won't be in the 30% discounted's list.

All Paos aka steamed buns won't be discounted no matter how much you beg unfortunately. And they also have this really nice wet popiahs aka spring rolls for only RM2. Too bad it's not discounted, 'cause it's pretty good and a lot cheaper then the one in pyramid too. And since this is vegetarian, maybe more people might come out to try eh? Well, maybe. Just maybe.

What's else is not on the list of discounted items? Uh. Nothing else. EVERYTHING ELSE is discounted! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:

Oh, last time, I preferred the yam cake over the carrot cake. But after the change, I guess I prefer the latter. There's just something off with the yam cake now. And it doesn't use to turn sour by the end of the evening. I recalled eating one last time passed 7pm and it was still nice. Just cold-ish. But still nice. Nope, still haven't brought up that warmer thingy to the boss. Heh.

Oh right... I almost forgot. The barley gingko thing up in the photo was really nice. It's not too sweet and tastes just the way I like it to be. Donno if you would, but that dish has my personal recommendation. You don't have to worry about when you wanna get it. It's still served hot by the time you walk in past 5pm. Pretty nifty eh? Ohohoho.

Neo Kee update the Sequel

Ok, misinformed. The worker yesterday might not have been filled in with the right details. But yes, the rumor is true. Mr. Tommy the boss is no longer there. I happened to meet the new owner. Yes. New owner. She was a sweet lady. I even got more than I paid for my dish today. Maybe it was just a kind mistake. But whatever the case is, yes, Tommy sold over his company to this nice lady.

No. I donno what's her name. Didn't really bother to ask lol. I was hungry. Dood.

I don't have pictures of her too, but you can see her in person anytime you feel like going to Neo Kee. Ok, maybe not anytime. She usually only appears magically during the busy afternoon. In this case, today, I saw her around 1.50 - 2pmish?

Also, I was right about the yam cake thing. The ones you buy later tastes a bit sourish. So avoid buying that. Well, unless if you don't mind the lack bit of freshness and save a certain 30% of your pockets. Well, it's like what they say, you get what you pay for haha. I guess.

I'm still not sure if the warmer affects the freshness. And no, I have not brought it up.

Though, there are a certain number of noted changes to the food. The fried mushrooms are still there. Tastes... a bit minty this time? I donno. But it's still good regardless. Just that I prefer the previous one. Everything else seemed to taste a bit different too. It feels like the same recipe is being prep'd the same way, but when different people apply the same recipe, it tastes differently, if you get what I mean.

Oh well, I guess Mr. Tommy is either back in Sabah or maybe trying out on another venture in his vegetarian desserts thingamagist somewhere far far away. I just know it's not in the original Neo Kee atm.

Also, Michelle became a human brick wall for me for a while today. :/

Well, that's that. Hm.

Neo Kee update

Mr. Tommy aka boss won't be around for a while. So if you think he's gone, he isn't really. Just away for a while. Though, the dishes served for his mixed rice when he's not around is quite different from the usual. Donno, it just comes across as a bit Malayish. Well, I just saw some eggs in sambal curry, something I often see in the mamak on the other corner. And the sudden boom of Malay worker being in hoods certainly makes the mood a bit different. Not to mention he changed the layout a bit. Speaking of which, I haven't seen any of those vegetarian desserts no more. And that whole rack of vegetarian pastries too. Maybe it wasn't too profitable for the establishment I guess. In the midst of it, I did buy myself one slice of yam cake, which I really adore. But I must say, I didn't adore it much this time. Maybe I bought it at the wrong time perhaps? It just had a little sour taste to it for me at the time. But I could be wrong. Whatever it is, it is without a doubt that fresh ones always taste good no matter what. Unless if something went wrong in between the production of course.

Anyway, some good news for late eaters, 30% off all mixed rice dishes and counter-cakes from 5pm-6.30pm if I read correctly. So if you're either really late for lunch, or just really early for dinner, well, drop by for some savings. XD If you want to really.

I'll try the cakes again tomorrow, then maybe give some feedback to the boss about their fine new... uh, heat rack. I think that's what you call it. Or warmer. Whatever it is, it certainly didn't retain the cake's original freshness. But then again, i might be wrong, so yeah. I'll investigate on Friday afternoon ohohohoh.

Dapoer Bandoeng

Heh, sorry. Since Michelle left, I think I kinda need to re-establish the whole objective of setting up this blog. So yeah. From now on, I'm just gonna be posting about every single foodly thing I can think of that revolves around my life. Whether it suits you or not... ehehehe, I hope it does though P:

So yes.

Dapoer Bandong. A nice place to eat in really. Well, I haven't tried all of their dishes, but I can sorta tell that the food they serve have authentic recipes. How authentic is authentic, heck, I donno, but from the taste of the Gado-gado I ate, which had some sorta rich milky coconut after taste and lotsa nice dense flavour in it compared to the one I ate at Ayam Penyet and Chicken Rice Shop, (yes, IKR) this place's Gado-gado's the best.

Gyargh, next time if I wanna intro a place I'd better get an address for it. Pfft

Haha, I do have the details :D Gotta love the wonders of internet sometimes.
114 Blk E No.1 Jalan SS 6/2 Kelana Parkview
Petaling Jaya, Selangor 47301
019-406 6497

Yeah, there you have it. If you're going, gimme a ping and I might be there to join you hehe. Unless if you're treating me of course. P:

Oh yeah, I think I'm gonna officially start some food hunts. What do I mean? Basically, I'll be looking for a specific kinda dish, then I'll review it based on my various experiences of it in different locations. Like for instance, today's one will be gado-gado. So you can be rest assured that there'd definitely be more posts about gado-gado here. And I'll always be comparing to see if there are better or worse ones. Well, we all do wanna avoid the not-so-great food right? Just say yes.

And speaking of Gado-gado, hahahaha... sorry, I got so carried away by the flavour of the dish that I think I might have just forgotten to take a picture of it with my phone. Damn. I hate myself. But looks like I loved the food a whole lot :D

The whole interior deco is pretty cool I think. It feels like a contemporary kampung chalet feeling. If you get what I mean. Ah, you'll know if you go there for yourself XD

And they still seem pretty traditional with the way they serve. When my dish arrived, it was on a wooden coaster-ish platter layered with banana leaves. Definitely gives the dishes a better aroma.

Dishes without banana leaves just can't beat the ones with it sometimes. Well, just sometimes. Lol.

Oh, I might have forgotten my gado-gado, which I'm really sorry. Really. But I did take a picture of this:
This is Mi Telo Manis or something liddat. It's good for RM3 I guess. Tastes like Wantan Mee, without the wantan. And it tastes pretty decent, with a nice soup to go with it. And the soup actually tasted pretty good, not the chicken cube taste or whatever rempah readymixes. It tasted like real genuine soup with real bones and meat and... yeah. That sorta taste. I like those kinda soups :D

Maybe I'll go there again to try the other dishes hahahahaha. Oh, and if you were wondering, the dishes here are mostly under RM10 :) Just don't take the fishes. They are too fresh. Lol.

Oh awesome, someone who worked there before made nice reviews of the restaurant. :D Click here.

Ok, that's it for today.
I might be posting tomorrow.
My gf's coming over to my house,
and I'll be cooking so maybe she can
video me or take some pictures of me
with her iTouch/Pad whatever it was.

Heh.

Looks Like

Michelle's officially withdrawing for a while due to unexplainably explainable reasons which I myself find hard to explain really.

So anyways, while she's on her Awesomunch vacation, I can either go solo are start looking around for people who might want to help out? Well, if you're interested, just drop a comment with your e-mail and I'll get back to you via facebook or whatever. Leaving your contact would be nice haha.

K.
Bye.

I think I can sorta relate

To what Michelle was feeling the other time now.

She said

Don't you think it'd be better if you just made a proper blogpost from a time when you're really motivated about it rather than half-assing the thing all over?
Well, sort of. Not her exact words. But something like that.

Though, it's a bit different for my side. Maybe I'm just not finding the time to do the things I wanted to for the next coming post. Hm...

Well, rest assured, I'll keep on trying my best. And I sure wanna see what Michelle did spending RM500++ back at Penang. Hmm...

Bye.
