Hiatus Update

As the title suggest, this blog will be sluggish and empty-ish for the time being.
(there hasn't been a post for months as far as I've recalled anyways so...)

Reason being, well, no mood to look for food stuff at the moment. Will resume when I
get more money to spend on omnomnom goodness. College is so evil sometimes.

So much to the point that I even have to resign from my voluntary aid team. Pfft.

Yeah, I mean when i start working. And when i get myself a real camera.

Capische? Good.

kthxbye

Dong Yi Shun Chilayu Restaurant

Hm, what can I say? Great Chinese food at affordable prices. And it's halal too. So for those Chinese food lovers out there who happened to be Muslims, maybe you can give this place a shot.]

Ok, I can't find a proper address for this. But if you can find Giant Hypermarket Kelana Jaya near the LDP, then it's no mystery. Just drive a little further past MickeyD's and Maybank on your right and turn to your left.

There's a place called Dataran Glomac there. It's on the first row you see. If you can find it, go all the way until you see KFC, then check again ^^

I checked the reviews. Everyone gave a good rating. Me?

I'm no different. The food was really really good for what I've paid for. And thus, my recommendation ^^

ARABIC RICE

MA POH TOFU

SZE CHUAN SPICY LA MI
My mom took us there so it was a nice dining experience. They most certainly weren't stingy with the portions, at all. My fried rice came compacted, or compressed, whatever you call round blobby rice. But mine, and my brother's, were both served in that blob of rice itself, only bigger. It was shaped like a Chinese semi-flat bowl. So you can just imagine how much rice there was. And like I said, it was a nice dining experience.

Arabic rice was splendid. I donno what they put in it, but it tastes so good. For a RM9 dish, I'd go there again just wallop another lol. My brother's was Guangzhou fried rice. It appeared plain, but tasted fantastic. Oh, for the record, no, it doesn't taste like those instant rice mix flavouring like Adabi and Ajinomoto's. It pretty much tastes wok cooked from garlic to rice. So yeah.

My mom's Szechuan Spicy Noodles aren't that spicy, though some may consider it spicy. But whatever it was, the taste was mild with many underlying notes of subtle tastes. And what does that mean? Obviously they didn't serve you with cheaposkatoh maggi instant soup of course. You can still beats of chicken meat inside, which means that they really brewed it with real chicken. And for that, I give them a +1 to reputation ;)

Oh, and I have good news. Apparently the one at KJ is the second outlet. At least I believe it so. There's another one at Kota Damansara. I can't find the real address again. But there are hints to where to find it through here. So do check it out if you're interested.

Mmm, Arabic Fried Rice.

Looking Familiar?

Some Chicken thingy. Still, it looks good eh?

If you think this is the original portion. Well,
YOU          ARE          WRONG!
because I ate all the rest
and only remembered
to save this last bit
for phototaking.

Salada. Very simplico. But mighty tasty.

last hint: it's about the only restaurant in the whole of godforsaken
Malaysia to serve you balsimic vinegar with olive oil, very professionally
done in fact. Of course, they serve you fresh oven-baked bread from
their own kitchen to be eaten along with their splendeur. So, got your
guesses already?

Well, if you guessed TGI Friday's, go kill yourself right now please.

If you guess Chilli's, well, the food's pretty good but sorraeh, it's not Chilli's.

If you thought of something Italiannies, then, ok, you're in for the epic win. Because it is Italiannies.

And guess what, I went there TWICE. In a month :D
Once was with mah love. But meh, we were broke, so we had to stretch our own wallets. Not so fun. Still good food. But wished we could spend more, 'cause on my birthday, well, actually a few days after my birthday, my family and I were scheduled to go the Fatty Crabs for my brithday dinner, but due to amazing me getting into a certain accident while cycling to a certain stressful college, it had to be cancelled, be of all people, Chinese has this traditional handed-down belief that crab is very toxic for wounds. So the plan go scrapped and I suggested Italiannies instead. Boy, was that the best choice ever.

If you go there, YOU MUST TRY, the Meatball Pasta for 6. Holy fucking seriously. The meatballs are like the size of your an embryo after coming out of the womb with illegal abortion techniques I tell you. And there were like 6 balls. One for each. Trust me, you wouldn't wanna take more than one. I mean, yes, it's good for you, but not necessarily so to your digestive system. But you're welcome to try of course.

And I finally had genuine tasty cheesy holy smoking lasagna with lotsa and I'm telling you, helluvalotsa CHEEZ. Am I glad they aren't cheddar. Blardy cheapskates. Pfft. Oh, that's not directed towards Italiannies mind you. Just every other restaurant that serves cheap lasagna besides Italiannies. Trust me, if you tried lasagna at DeliFrance or any other Pizza outlets and actually ate the one at Italiannies, your stomach will literally scream of bliss. Of course not your mouth. Who would wanna spit such a gourmet from your mouth. Bsh. if you did. I feel for you man.

Well, if you can, just try not to take their set meals. It's cheap(er) of course. But all the original dishes are like 10x better. Yeah, that kinda difference. I know 'cause my silly dad ordered a set meal when everyone else ordered to their heart's desire. Of course just a plate each. I wouldn't talk about the bill. It's... ahahahahaahah.

Ok, average dish price, RM35. That's all you have to know. The meatball, RM65 but if you're sharing with 6, man, it's pretty affordable.

Ok, I think I've blabbered too much.
Whatever it is.

Italiannies is good for you

If you're the kinda person who loves subtle taste with many different underlining notes of flavours over overwhelming slabbed taste, then Italiannies is the right place to go to. Just be prepared to spend a good deal of money for a value other restaurants can never provide to your tummy.

The eternal Italiannies fan,

Ministry of Food

And I thought there was only Ministry of Sound. Apparently there is a Ministry of Food. It's known non-other than Ministry of Food no Japanese Cafe.

I believe it's located nearby JC&Co Donuts, but only 2 floors higher. But I might be mistaken.

So I went there with mah gf. She ordered some kinky avocado salad and I ordered some el-cheapo curry fish. JAP CURRY fish.  It tastes good. But compared to Sushi Zanmai. Hahahahaha, they can never beat them I think. But I'll keep the possibilities open I guess.

Though, I only ordered a set meal so maybe it wasn't the best dish they could offer. It's pretty obvious with the half-assed dori they gave me. It's literally just half a dori fillet lol.

Makes me sad.

But it'd do the place no justice to judge it based on it's set meals. I mean, it's not a fast-food joint like McD's after all. So maybe I'll swing by this place again sometime, only with more money to spend.

Till then... AIYA, JUST DON'T BUY SET MEALS WHEREVER THE HECK YOU MAY BE DINING IN. Except for fast-food joints. They'll disappoint you.

Anyways, if you must know, Jap curry ain't spicy at all. So for those of you who never tried curry before, just go for Jap curry. Ahahahahahahaha.

Kthbai.

Rojak Subang Near Taylor's (Subang)

So let's not talk about the obvious nao. It's near Taylor's and that Taylor's is in Subang. Period. Other landmarks? Somewhere nearby Subang Parade but not that close.

Whatever it is, it doesn't matter. If you went for your undang test in the Subang area with a company called Rilek, then you'd definitely see this.

I mean, check it out. Malaysians. Actually lining up. IN ORDER. Just to get Rojak Subang SS***. I forgot the address. No, I'm not sorraeh. If you really want that rojak baaaaaad enough, I'm pretty sure you can find it without me telling you the address lol.

Ok fine, another kind landmark. I remember seeing KFC nearby. That's all. And there is a field just across the road where the stall is. So yeah. NO MORE TIPS.

So anyways, I don't think I have to vouch for the rojak. If that many people railed themselves so particularly systematically just to get that rojak, from morning around 11am till 3pm, what else can I say. IT MUST BE GOOD. And the best part is, that line always has a minimum length. And that minimum length, is a quarter of a circle's long. When people go, other people come. It's crazy. It's like the rojak vendor has some miracle LRT system.

Ok, wait, an aunti who spoke flawless English suddenly cut in front of me. I didn't respond of course. I was too lazy to give a shit. I just wanted to eat some nice nutty fragrant and thick mamak rojakkkkkkkk....

I'm telling you, it must be the 1 Malaysia aura. Just look at them all, standing united, for what? ROJAK. This must've been one of those other plans Najib had unintentionally planned. Again. Maybe he's not as bad as a PM as we think he is. Or maybe not. Regardless, this post is about ROJAK. Najib, is just not ROJAK material.

Oh I'm sorraeh.

A definitely must see/have/eat/gnaw in life.
If you don't. You suck. P:

P/S; I did eat the rojak. Very nice stuff. But I feel sad for anyone who can't even take the slightest beat of heat in their mouth. I sadfaic for their sake.

Fancy Choc Dips Anyone?

This is supposed to be history since it was supposedly like done on the 23rd of April, my birthday as most of you wouldn't really bother knowing since it's a pretty insignificant date compared to April Fool's Day, which is the birth date of someone very important to me.

No, I was joking about not joking.

Doesn't matter if you don't understand nuts. What you need to know here is that all the chocs are just whatever you like be it Hershey's Cadbury's Choki2, you name it buddy. Just melt them altogether in a pot not with direct heat since you'd end up burning your precious molten lava of smelty chocolatey goodness if you did.

Don't know how? Ok, find a BIG POT. Then find a small bowl. Fill the BIG POT wit water and put all the chocolcate you wish molten in the small bowl. Put the small bowl filled with choc into the BIG POT, then put the BIG POT onto the stpve and wait for it to melt. And no, don't cover it. You wouldn't want diluted choc. Trust me. But if you really need to add any liquid, please for the love of God or any other mighty entity, just try milk. FULL CREAM. Why? Oh, it's good for you.

Who made this dish for me again? Well, it's my sis of course. I was surprised that she even did something like this for me hahaha. Well, our relationship wasn't great from the beginning, but I guess being adults now help to keep the past behind us eh? Family ties just rock sometimes. Heh.

Don't worry about the dipping. Anything tastes good in molten choc. Trust me. I tried chocholate chicken before. It tastes exactly like chocolate. Only that it's chicken!

And that's pretty much it?
P/S, my sis used Cadbury's....
and used  marshmallows, Rawst berries and  apples.

What? Another Neo Kee update?

Yes. I has pictures nao. Shaddap plox.
Gosh, maybe I should just change the blog name to Neokeefansx1000.blogspot.com lol. Er... On second thought, maybe not? Heh.

So, if you remember, I did mention about the 30% discount from 5-6.30pm aye? Well, let me just point out some things that won't be in the 30% discounted's list.

All Paos aka steamed buns won't be discounted no matter how much you beg unfortunately. And they also have this really nice wet popiahs aka spring rolls for only RM2. Too bad it's not discounted, 'cause it's pretty good and a lot cheaper then the one in pyramid too. And since this is vegetarian, maybe more people might come out to try eh? Well, maybe. Just maybe.

What's else is not on the list of discounted items? Uh. Nothing else. EVERYTHING ELSE is discounted! YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:

Oh, last time, I preferred the yam cake over the carrot cake. But after the change, I guess I prefer the latter. There's just something off with the yam cake now. And it doesn't use to turn sour by the end of the evening. I recalled eating one last time passed 7pm and it was still nice. Just cold-ish. But still nice. Nope, still haven't brought up that warmer thingy to the boss. Heh.

Oh right... I almost forgot. The barley gingko thing up in the photo was really nice. It's not too sweet and tastes just the way I like it to be. Donno if you would, but that dish has my personal recommendation. You don't have to worry about when you wanna get it. It's still served hot by the time you walk in past 5pm. Pretty nifty eh? Ohohoho.

Neo Kee update the Sequel

Ok, misinformed. The worker yesterday might not have been filled in with the right details. But yes, the rumor is true. Mr. Tommy the boss is no longer there. I happened to meet the new owner. Yes. New owner. She was a sweet lady. I even got more than I paid for my dish today. Maybe it was just a kind mistake. But whatever the case is, yes, Tommy sold over his company to this nice lady.

No. I donno what's her name. Didn't really bother to ask lol. I was hungry. Dood.

I don't have pictures of her too, but you can see her in person anytime you feel like going to Neo Kee. Ok, maybe not anytime. She usually only appears magically during the busy afternoon. In this case, today, I saw her around 1.50 - 2pmish?

Also, I was right about the yam cake thing. The ones you buy later tastes a bit sourish. So avoid buying that. Well, unless if you don't mind the lack bit of freshness and save a certain 30% of your pockets. Well, it's like what they say, you get what you pay for haha. I guess.

I'm still not sure if the warmer affects the freshness. And no, I have not brought it up.

Though, there are a certain number of noted changes to the food. The fried mushrooms are still there. Tastes... a bit minty this time? I donno. But it's still good regardless. Just that I prefer the previous one. Everything else seemed to taste a bit different too. It feels like the same recipe is being prep'd the same way, but when different people apply the same recipe, it tastes differently, if you get what I mean.

Oh well, I guess Mr. Tommy is either back in Sabah or maybe trying out on another venture in his vegetarian desserts thingamagist somewhere far far away. I just know it's not in the original Neo Kee atm.

Also, Michelle became a human brick wall for me for a while today. :/

Well, that's that. Hm.

OC

Neo Kee update

Mr. Tommy aka boss won't be around for a while. So if you think he's gone, he isn't really. Just away for a while. Though, the dishes served for his mixed rice when he's not around is quite different from the usual. Donno, it just comes across as a bit Malayish. Well, I just saw some eggs in sambal curry, something I often see in the mamak on the other corner. And the sudden boom of Malay worker being in hoods certainly makes the mood a bit different. Not to mention he changed the layout a bit. Speaking of which, I haven't seen any of those vegetarian desserts no more. And that whole rack of vegetarian pastries too. Maybe it wasn't too profitable for the establishment I guess. In the midst of it, I did buy myself one slice of yam cake, which I really adore. But I must say, I didn't adore it much this time. Maybe I bought it at the wrong time perhaps? It just had a little sour taste to it for me at the time. But I could be wrong. Whatever it is, it is without a doubt that fresh ones always taste good no matter what. Unless if something went wrong in between the production of course.

Anyway, some good news for late eaters, 30% off all mixed rice dishes and counter-cakes from 5pm-6.30pm if I read correctly. So if you're either really late for lunch, or just really early for dinner, well, drop by for some savings. XD If you want to really.

I'll try the cakes again tomorrow, then maybe give some feedback to the boss about their fine new... uh, heat rack. I think that's what you call it. Or warmer. Whatever it is, it certainly didn't retain the cake's original freshness. But then again, i might be wrong, so yeah. I'll investigate on Friday afternoon ohohohoh.

Dapoer Bandoeng

Heh, sorry. Since Michelle left, I think I kinda need to re-establish the whole objective of setting up this blog. So yeah. From now on, I'm just gonna be posting about every single foodly thing I can think of that revolves around my life. Whether it suits you or not... ehehehe, I hope it does though P:

So yes.

Dapoer Bandong. A nice place to eat in really. Well, I haven't tried all of their dishes, but I can sorta tell that the food they serve have authentic recipes. How authentic is authentic, heck, I donno, but from the taste of the Gado-gado I ate, which had some sorta rich milky coconut after taste and lotsa nice dense flavour in it compared to the one I ate at Ayam Penyet and Chicken Rice Shop, (yes, IKR) this place's Gado-gado's the best.

Gyargh, next time if I wanna intro a place I'd better get an address for it. Pfft

Haha, I do have the details :D Gotta love the wonders of internet sometimes.
114 Blk E No.1 Jalan SS 6/2 Kelana Parkview
Petaling Jaya, Selangor 47301
019-406 6497

Yeah, there you have it. If you're going, gimme a ping and I might be there to join you hehe. Unless if you're treating me of course. P:

Oh yeah, I think I'm gonna officially start some food hunts. What do I mean? Basically, I'll be looking for a specific kinda dish, then I'll review it based on my various experiences of it in different locations. Like for instance, today's one will be gado-gado. So you can be rest assured that there'd definitely be more posts about gado-gado here. And I'll always be comparing to see if there are better or worse ones. Well, we all do wanna avoid the not-so-great food right? Just say yes.

And speaking of Gado-gado, hahahaha... sorry, I got so carried away by the flavour of the dish that I think I might have just forgotten to take a picture of it with my phone. Damn. I hate myself. But looks like I loved the food a whole lot :D

The whole interior deco is pretty cool I think. It feels like a contemporary kampung chalet feeling. If you get what I mean. Ah, you'll know if you go there for yourself XD

And they still seem pretty traditional with the way they serve. When my dish arrived, it was on a wooden coaster-ish platter layered with banana leaves. Definitely gives the dishes a better aroma.

Dishes without banana leaves just can't beat the ones with it sometimes. Well, just sometimes. Lol.

Oh, I might have forgotten my gado-gado, which I'm really sorry. Really. But I did take a picture of this:
This is Mi Telo Manis or something liddat. It's good for RM3 I guess. Tastes like Wantan Mee, without the wantan. And it tastes pretty decent, with a nice soup to go with it. And the soup actually tasted pretty good, not the chicken cube taste or whatever rempah readymixes. It tasted like real genuine soup with real bones and meat and... yeah. That sorta taste. I like those kinda soups :D

Maybe I'll go there again to try the other dishes hahahahaha. Oh, and if you were wondering, the dishes here are mostly under RM10 :) Just don't take the fishes. They are too fresh. Lol.

Oh awesome, someone who worked there before made nice reviews of the restaurant. :D Click here.

Ok, that's it for today.
I might be posting tomorrow.
My gf's coming over to my house,
and I'll be cooking so maybe she can
video me or take some pictures of me
with her iTouch/Pad whatever it was.

Heh.

I think I can sorta relate

To what Michelle was feeling the other time now.

She said

Don't you think it'd be better if you just made a proper blogpost from a time when you're really motivated about it rather than half-assing the thing all over?
Well, sort of. Not her exact words. But something like that.

Though, it's a bit different for my side. Maybe I'm just not finding the time to do the things I wanted to for the next coming post. Hm...

Well, rest assured, I'll keep on trying my best. And I sure wanna see what Michelle did spending RM500++ back at Penang. Hmm...

The Neo Kee Incident

Please be noted that Michelle hasn't passed me any of the pictures, so just enjoy the wall of text if you may, or well, there's also a videoless video coming up to on my first attempt of interview. Mhm.

So without further due.

I sorta wished that my Mandarine was better, but I'm grateful that it was enough for me to hear out his stories and actually ask him the questions I've written down for him.

I'll list down the questions and answers correspondingly. Note that it may not be in total sequence with the real interview P:

1. So my first question was to ask who is he since we'd all like to know a bit more about the owner eh?

Before he opened up Neo Kee, he was a vending machine technician for 6 years. At that time, there was shop owner who he knew was going to close his shop soon, which was the original Moon Garden. He spotted an opportunity to open up his own restaurant since the location was kinda strategic to him. And thus, you have the Neo Kee you see today.

But before he went ahead for the said plan, he self-studied on how to make desserts by himself with several books for 6 months prior to the opening of his restaurant. His also gave some advice to people who want to self study with cookbooks. He said that if you wanted to try a dish, looking at just one cook book won't do since you'll always find that you're short of a few ingredients without fail. But after cross checking with a few, you'll start realizing that you can replace certain ingredients with other. So after that 6 months of intense training by making as many desserts as he could and asking people to try them as well as asking for their kind opinions he started the Neo Kee Dessert House with a sparkle of hope.

Currently, he's 35, married for 4 years, has a child and has Neo Kee up and running for 2 good years.

2. I also wanted to know what motivated him to start his business.
Well, that answer was answered above. He saw an opportunity and he seized it for himself, albeit the fact that his family has a a great history with the food industry. Nothing bad P: His mom opened a restaurant back in Sabah, and yes, he's a Sabahan Chinese. The restaurant his mom ran is no longer existent though. Maybe the building might still be around, but certainly not the real business due to his mom's retirement.  His sister on the other hand is a head supervisor of a certain frozen food chain supplier. Like for instance, you see those head supervisors in the KFC or McD's who control the flow of food at specific business hours. But she does it within the factories for more a much bigger figure. That's pretty cool really if you ask me.

3. Then I moved along to asking him whether or not there was any particular reason why he named his restaurant Neo Kee and called it a dessert house.
Referring back to answer 1, he initially began a Dessert House selling vegetarian desserts. But after opening for about 6 months, he found that the flow of customers with the desserts weren't at a satisfactory level, nor was it enough to sustain the restaurant's operation. So he decided to switch it into a vegetarian a la carte and mixed rice to increase profit revenue. A smart move indeed since if it wasn't for that, I might not have been to the place in the first place P:

And if you wanted to know where the name Neo Kee came from, well, whaddya know, it's part of his name! :D Tommy Neo Kee Seng if I heard correctly, but it could be Kim too, not too sure, but I'll believe the sign board for now heh.

He mentioned by passing that the signboard was old and he was meaning to change it to Neo Kee Vegetarian Restaurant for some time now. Well, when we does, I'll be sure to check it out ^^

4. But of course, we all do wanna how when he first opened this business right? And why Sunway of all places?
Uh, refer back to question 1? Lol, almost all the answers are already there. But just for the question's sake, it's run for 2 years already. Exact date is unknown.

5. How come the premise is vegetarian?
A very interesting answer. His was born in a vegetarian family, is a vegetarian himself ever since he could remember, his wife is also a vegetarian and... man, is there anymore reason for him to not start a Vegetarian restaurant? Dude. Food industry too. Word. :D

Though, of all his family members (not from his marriage), only his brother isn't a vegetarian.

6. Influenced by Michelle's earlier interview proposition paper, I also asked him about his incomes and expenses whilst running the restaurant. Yes Michelle, I may have lost your paper, but I certainly never did lose the ideas you imposed in your questions.
Like earlier, desserts were never the biggest source of profit for his premise. So one could only imagine the profit margine he gets from his desserts. But his a la carte (menu, mixed rice, steamed bun) seems to be doing well enough. Although it may seem like his business flow is quite great from what the naked eyes can see, what we don't know is that the rental in the Sunway area is incredibly high according to him. He was also trying his best to be as considerate as he could with the pricing of his food in order to balance out the profit margine so that it would not burden the middle-income people like us students. Therefore, it might seem fine to us, but to him, it's a constant struggle to survive the financial situation.

But thanks to the an increased influx of incoming customers, he now has less worries on paying up the rents. So we can deduce from here that his business is maintaining a steady profit at the moment ^^

7. Like all people, everyone has a dream, and so I asked him what was his.
His dream when he began this restaurant was to open another branch within the next 5 years. He said that finding a location and setting up another store wasn't the biggest problem, since it was the manpower that was really hard to come by. By manpower, he means reliable workers he can fully trust and give responsibilities with. We can find a lot of manpower almost anywhere, provided we pay them right but good people are no doubt hard to come by no matter what kinda business you do. And once you do find one, and let that person go, there's  a very high chance that you'll never get that same person to work under you ever again.

He had a cashier cum waiter before in his premise. Kim was his name. I talked to him a few times and he was a nice guy. Just that he led an unfulfilling life and wished to fill up all the loopholes in his life, which is currently what he's trying to do now. According to the updates I've received for him, he's trying to give another shot at college again and finish up his engineering course. All the best to him of course. But him leaving the premise sorta left the boss alone to handle everything. So which is why, you'll see the next question.

But when I asked him whether Kim was a good worker, he told me that he was no doubt a great worker, which then led me to asking him if Kim's character is the kinda traits you look at in your future potential workers. He laughed and said that he'd definitely take people who are better if any.

8. He's hiring workers. On the off chance that one of us do want to work there, what are the benefits of the job and how do we get the job?
The pay isn't fixed according to him. He takes part-time workers too, but preferably no since he mentioned that part-timers are very difficult to deal with in accordance to their own personal schedule, in which I find quite true ever since my experience working at Lunchbox. I filled up for a lot of people pretty much almost every time, since I had no classes on the specific given times. Though, that never meant that I had much time to spare working since I had to do my share of assignments back at home. So if there's anyone he'd want to hire, he'd gladly take any full-timers out there.

The more you can do and the better you can perform, the higher he'll pay you. But for whatever's worth, average for waiters working in any diners for that matter range from 3.50 to 5 normally. If you're lucky, you might actually get 7 an hour. In which I did before at Lunchbox. But it was only one day and it isn't my time to shine here, it's Neo Kee's ^^

As for some additional info, according to my previous talk with Kim, lunch and dinner is provided for you.

9. And since everyone is loathing the recession, I thought maybe I could ask him what was his opinion about the current economical climate.
He says that he agrees with the mass majority of people that living in the big city under the current economical climate is rather difficult. By big city, he means the KL and PJ areas. To him, back in Sabah, everything was so much easier. Living life there was pretty simple and content.

In Selangor, the rents are high, the food isn't cheap, the prices of food and organic ingredients are slowly increasing as well. Him being married and having one child doesn't make it any easier since according to him, feeding another mouth bears a huge cost. But he was never unhappy for the birth of his child mind you. It's just that expenses is a thorn in every middlemen's heart you see.

10. Last but not least, I asked him whether he had any form of message to be told to the mass audience out there (through our blog).
I did mention organic in question 9 didn't I? Well, his message to y'all was "in Neo Kee, we serve Vegetarian Food. We use all organic materials and we believe that having a vegetarian diet can help you stay healthy. So if you feel like having a heart healthy meal, try us out. Our doors are open daily from 10am-9pm"

Ok, actually I made that time up. I'm not sure. It's just a rough estimate. I'm not too sure if he opens during the weekends. Maybe I'll go check it the next time I pay him another visit. P:

Also, from this interview, I realized that my Sandisk MP3's recording system was incredibly awesome since through the whole interview, the mp3 was actually placed on the table about easily one long metal ruler length away from me. And it still managed to capture such great audio clarity.

I was thinking about getting myself a camera to take pictures and record videos, but come to think of it, interviewing with a vidoe is quite difficult to be done alone. Even if I have a stand. So.. maybe not? I guess I'll just look for Marcus or something XD

Alright, this is me signing out. I hope the 10 questions I presented had given you relevant and interesting info for you to digest. Comments and suggestions for new interview questions or improvements that can be made for future interviews are always welcome.

Have a nice day people!
'Til Michelle posts some pictures ^^

Gellato anyone?

Seen this place in Pyramid? You should have, if you attempted to visit Rotiboy the other time XD

What gave me the urge to blog about this place? Well, probably due to a certain influence my girlfriend always had on being French-like or Parisian and hey, I also read David Lebovitz's blog relgiously!

He posted on gellatos many times before, and I just can't help but to think how does it really taste like.

Truth is.. I was aimlessly wandering around with my two other friends, namely Sleepy and Yaakoba.

And we just so happened to be in front of that shop at the given moment and felt the sudden urge to spend money to try a scoop or two too! And so we did and thus leading to me posting this random gellato thingamigist.

But I must say, the taste, texture and feel combined was rather exquisite, (they cost RM5.80 a cup mind you) and NO, it definitely did not taste anything like McD's ice cream or Chocolate's Vanilla Sundae, which are no doubt relatively cheaper than Fig&Olive's gellato goodness.
But if it does make you any happier however, I'm glad to tell you that any extra scoop would only cost another RM4 and it doesn't incur any costs of taxes :D

It's quite understandable I guess since most food joints today add up the tax inside their already available prices, just to make people not go HOMFG WAI IZ ZERE TACKS IN MAH FEWD????

I donno about all the other food this joint serves inside, but if you're adventurous with your wallet, you're more than welcome to try really. Ohohoh.

As for what flavour I got for nomming goodness, I got Mixed Berries, which really tasted like a fresh blend of mixed berries. You could tastes traces of strawberries, cherries, blueberries and many other berries in which I'm not particularly aware of their existence but tastes awesome altogether when blended together in nomming goodness.

Yaakoba had some Choc flavour, which tasted like dark chocolate. I sense Hershey's. Generous loads of it. Yes, in the ice cream. I mean gellato. Gellato and ice creams are completely different things. Go google them up and you shall be enlightened. Eheh.

Sleepy went for Vanilla of all flavours. But I never got a taste of it so I donno how great it tasted. But looking at him finishing it so fast with an empty cup at the end of his splooshy mouth-watering demeanor, I'd bet it was just as great as any other flavour we all picked today.

For other flavours, well, there's coffee, mint, strawberry, cookies and.. uh something. And I forgot the rest P: Go check it out yourself. After all, we all got ang pows for a reason right? Yess... help economy nao. SPEND! Keep the flow of currency in our country continuous! And make certain that the inflation ensues. Yay.

And to Michelle. I've already created a new Nuffnang account just like you requested. The e-mail and password is no different than our foodzombehs account details. So if you've got logging in problems and whatnot, I'll just assume that you don't want your share of Nuffnang goodness and I'll just keep all of them for myself ohohohohohoh.

The post for Neo Kee can only be done by someone who has all the photos. Since I practically have none of it, I probably won't be the one doing the post as far as I can see. But as much as to my dismay, Michelle's probably the last person you can ever think about relying on. So... I suppose I'll just do a post without any pictures as a last resort hahahahahahah.

Also, interview is later in the noon and I shall hereby openly declare that I lost Michelle's interview sheet. Whether it was intentional or not, hell, I'm not even sure myself you see.

Last but not least, you said I am a very bad man. I'm somewhat gratified that you actually thought of me in any negative way whatsoever. But I just thought I should tell you that I'd be even happier if you said that I'm a very terrible individual or any of its equivalent counterparts.

Yes.

Hm, I don't really recall telling anyone that I was a nice person so.. if you ever assumed I was a nice guy... MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA.

Oh I'm sorraeh.
May evil be your bestest friend ever.
After all, Cthulhu is a pretty nice friend after 2012.

Oh, A Miracle

Refers to Michelle's sudden urge to post P:

Today, I felt like doing a little field research at the local supermarket. I've got some juicy plans for the upcoming post, so stay tuned, well, if you want to that is :D

Well, of to Jusco, whom I think really deserves a certain degree of recognition as well, since... Their food is as affordable as Giant's but much healthier and of better quality. Giant is undoubtedly much nearer to the college but man, I feel sick just by looking at the mixed~... uh. Eheh.

Ok, maybe I shouldn't be comparing. But either way, I just want to feature these fabulous croquettes only exclusive to Jusco mmmm...

YESSS... Croquette.. Their food supermarket is near Popular,
but one floor down haha. You shouldn't miss i if you're on
your way to Subway from the cinema's direction.

Lots of other nice delish Jap food. Did I ever mention that
Jusco is a Japanese company? Lololololololololololololol.

Their food are generally good. But avoid purchasing after 5pm
or so. Their heater works wonders, but only up till a certain
duration. So if you want the good stuff, get them earlier.
Best ones are usually served around 10am in the morning mm.
But getting them around lunctime is never too late. Latest by
3 pm I guess. After that, well it's your choice haha.

I tried some cheap sushi lol. And miraculously, I didn't puke.
Like I said before, Jusco makes quality food even though
their prices may not seem very convincing. But if you could
just stare at the look of those mouth-watering decor, I'm telling
you, the price won't even mean anything anymore. They just
taste as good as they look :D:D:D:D:D

Yay, MY croquette... Got mine just nice. The cheese inside was
still creamishly molten and warm. Not too hot to eat at all. I
got mine the last time a little too hot and the molten cheese
almost smolder my tongue. Period. But I never regretted that
moment of pain. It tasted the best at that particular moment.
And man, the crust is just so fun to bite. It's crunchy and...
and... and... GOLDEN BROWN!

Man, first it was Rotiboy, now Each a Cup? Pyramid is certainly
catering with Yee Xian's craving needs to date. I mean, she's been
addicted to the taste of Rotiboy's ever since I introduced it to her,
and she totally adores Each a Cup. I think. Well, she intro'd that
to me when we were at Pasar Seni? It was so-so for me, but if it makes
her happy, whuddaheck y'know. We only took 3 cups after all. Wait,
we took 3 cups? Lol. Their drinks costs around RM4 a pop though. I
recall the cheapest being around RM3 and highest around RM7. Where
is this place? Go to the money changer at the lowest floor. If you've seen
the place with the carousel (merry-go-round), you've got the right place.
it's also just across that... uh, whatever fruit house.

And just for your info, I went field studying because I was just thinking that since most of all the readers to date that I know are probably students who either want to save money or live in a rented space of seclusion, I wanted to help them ease up with their own budget further. Some people can't afford to spend RM5 a day for lunch. Worse for people who also spend another RM5 for dinner D:

So if you tenant/landlord allows you to cook, I suggest that you make full advantage of it? There's a whole list of things that can last you for a whole week, and it won't cost you more than RM30. And I'm talking for both lunch and dinner, not just lunch. It might even last you more than a week, which in turn will incur more savings for you, and me as well. Sorraeh, lets just say I don't do things that won't benefit myself LOL. Jajajaja. But whatever right? I'm still sharing insider info in the end.

My lecturer did tell me after all, that if all artist strive to be the best of their own and disregard the art community around him/her, artists will never grow together, and there'd always be only one individual who's great, and others who aren't as great. So SHARE! :D

Ok, I'm hungry now.
Mom cooked mihoon.
Wahahah. Bye.
